Happy Halloween from our lil' pumpkin!

Happy Halloween to everyone! We spent the evening at dinner and our house with our good friends Kelley and Tarek. They have a beautiful 5-week old daughter, Aliyah. Seeing her reminds us of how much time is flying by....I can hardly remember Samantha at 5 weeks...Maybe we were so sleep-deprived. :)

This last week was really busy...Bright Horizons (Sam's day care) had their Fall Festival (Halloween parade)...it was a lot of fun. I've attached a photo of her and her buddy Thomas. She dressed up as a pumpkin...Phil and I had a good time...and were so glad that we could spend that time with her. I think we were a tad overwhelmed with all of the toddlers and older kids running around...at least we see what may be happening later :)

Over the last couple of weeks, Samantha has grown a lot stronger, and is sitting up very well. She's done laying on her back I think! Even at night, she's a tummy sleeper (with her butt in the air!) Just today, we sat her in the high chair when we went to lunch out....and in the shopping cart at Target (see photo). She's reaching for everything in sight, and even for people that are standing next to us! We took her to the State Fair last weekend, and had a great time. She loved all of the sites and sounds, and smells! About half way through our time there, she fell asleep...so sweet - of course, on Daddy's chest...

Today, we had a photo shoot at our house, so am hoping that we have photos to share soon with everyone. We have learned that it's hard to get a 6-month old to smile on cue or to turn a certain way. I think we were exhausted after that...Sam slept 2.5 hours after, and normally she only sleeps about an hour all day!

Another exciting thing this week was her 6-month check-up...she is still in the upper percentiles for everything. She weighed 17 lbs, 2 oz (80th percentile) and was 26 3/4 inches (75th percentile)..she's working her way our of the car carrier...it won't be too much longer! At her nine month appointment, she won't get any vaccines...yay!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend...it's about time for bed for me..can't stay up too late these days....what happened to my stamina from college days??? :-)
